Blender has an ideology where pop and r'n'b music is considered important. An example of media language that shows this is the main image, this reflects the ideology of the magazine as Fergie is part of one of the biggest pop/r'n'b pop bands in the world from the past until now.
The medium shot of this pop artist shows that she is posed
holding her jacket open to show her toned body, she is also wearing a lot of makeup to show her appearance is important, this fits her in with the representation of 'perfect' and skinny girls in the celebrity industry also attracting a male audience to the magazine. The institution of this magazine is 'Blender'-(publisher editor etc.).The masthead is in a beige colour creating a contrast with the white background. The cover line is in blue and black following the colour scheme of blue, black, white and beige. Also, the selling lines continue to carry out the theme as well as telling the audience what is involved in the magazine, persuading them. The front cover contains the magazines website and websites which would interest the target audience.

Textual Analysis
The institution of this magazine is NME as this is the name of the company which runs it, the publisher is Faith Hill. Faith Hill is appointed publisher of music titles NME and Uncut reporting to publishing director Paul Cheal. James Thrower is appointed associate publisher of the Mousebreaker casual gaming portfolio, and will remain associate publisher of men's monthly Loaded, reporting to publishing director Jo Smalley. Faith began her career at Hachette Filipacchi where she was group marketing manager for Sugar and ELLEgirl. She joined IPC Media in 2004 where she held marketing roles on IPC Southbank's Marie Claire, In Style and woman&home before moving to a publishing role in January 2008. The medium close up shot of the lead singer from the popular rock band Foo Fighters is represented in a cool and rock like way, he has long hair and a beard which is stereotypical of most rock artists and the facial expression is showing he is posed but he has chosen to grit his teeth and raise his eyebrow which makes him look cool and individual like his music. The masthead is red and bold with a white outline to make the magazine eye catching, it is also placed at the top of the page therefore it can be seen in newspaper and magazine racks in shops and librarys etc.

Hip Hop connection
Hip Hop Connection has an ideology where hip hop is important. An example of media language that shows this is the main cover line "Lil Wayne 2008's biggest superstar", this reflects the ideology as Lil Wayne is a very big idol in the hip-hop world.
The main image of the magazine is a medium close up of Lil Wayne which matches the main cover line. The institution is Hip-Hop Connection as they are a company, although it isn't a recognisable institution.
The way Lil Wayne is represented is very intense and very serious towards the audience due to the way he is posed. He is showing his tattoos and bling to show that he is a tough character from the streets.
The selling line on this music magazine is 'The xmas rapping paper' which is a play on words, it attracts the audience as it adds humour.
The masthead is bold and white therefore it shouts out to its audience, the colour scheme is red and white.

Evaluation
I have chosen to call my magazine 'Future' as it constrasts with college well, students go to college to develop their future therefore this is extremely relevant. I have chosen my masthead to be coloured red as it will catch the audience's eye. The logo for 'Future' is three arrows facing forwards, one red, one yellow and one blue, this is significant as these are the primary colours which relate to education, this will attract the target audience, teachers. My main image matches my sub title, 'Healthy colleges, Healthy living!' which is based on a new healthy eating plan which will be brought into colleges to prevent obesity across the nation, this will also attract teacher's to 'Future' magazine as they will be interested in the benefits being offered to their pupils. The subtitle is in black writing and a bold font which will highlight it. I have chosen a plain white background for the magazine as other colours will stand out more against it. I have created the second cover story underneath the subtitle as this is where they are on other college magazines. ''20% rise in A*s since 2007'' this cover story will appeal to teachers because it shows higher levels of acheivement from their pupils whom they have helped progress. The date and website are at the bottom of the magazine to give extra bits of information if needed. My college magazine is out monthly therefore it will contain a lot more interesting stories which have happened during the month rather than boring and irrelevant information which will of happened during such a short period of time e.g a week. My research helped me a lot throughout the project as I could refer back to it for help and reassurance during the stages of planning. I chose to create my magazine on Microsoft Publisher as it would take less time and would be more convenient overall, than photoshop. Publisher also contains templates and my magazine could easily be made to be as effective as if it was made on photoshop.
I have made a few changes from my initial plan, i added a bar code to make it look more realistic. I also added three little stars next to the second cover story which reflects the grade increase of ''A*'s'', it adds effect and makes the magazine brighter and eyecatching to the target audience, teachers.
In order to progress for creating my music magazine i will organise time management better, and research a lot more information therefore it will help me organise my magazine to look more realistic and successful.
